The designers of Squid Game have promised the players that the winning contestant will win a lot of money, but they find out that some players (and game staff) have been selfish and done things in their own best interest. They issue a threat that players who do not follow the rules of the game will be killed. This far into the games, the players would likely believe that warning. The Front Man instead determines he wants his threat to be credible and hangs the cheaters outside of the living quarters. This threat is done to prevent players from changing their future behavior and maintaining their honesty in the game.
